MELICAO is a natural chocolate substitute made from 90% organic European flower honey from Bulgaria and 10% organic cocoa from Peru. The honey is only lightly warmed for spreadability, so that flavor and nutrients are preserved to the fullest.

A pure blend without added sugars, without palm oil, and without unnecessary additives. Simply a jar of natural energy with real cocoa taste.

Raw honey is not (highly) heated or industrially processed. This means all natural substances are preserved: enzymes, antioxidants, pollen, vitamins, and minerals.

Most honey from the supermarket is heated or mixed, causing these valuable qualities and flavors to be largely lost.

Rich, full flavor based on mild organic honey with a pure hint of cocoa. Not too sweet, not bitter.

The combination of honey and cocoa gives a deep, rounded taste – without added sugars, fats, or other rubbish.

• No blend of doubtful origin: The honey in MELICAO is 100% organic and comes from the EU (Bulgaria). No mixing with non-EU honey or refined sugars. The cocoa comes from Peru and is also organic.

• Very lightly heated: Only gently warmed to make the texture spreadable. Not industrially heated like commercial pastes, so most nutrients are preserved.

• Not filtered: The honey is minimally processed. Pollen and enzymes remain intact – just like the natural strength of raw honey.

Raw honey naturally crystallizes. This is a good sign – it means the honey is genuine and unheated. Want to make the honey slightly liquid again? That can be done easily, without damaging the beneficial substances.

Here’s how to do it safely:
– Place the closed jar in a bowl of warm water (bain-marie)
– Make sure the water does not get warmer than 40 °C
– Let it warm slowly until the desired texture is reached
– Stir gently if needed

Why a maximum of 40 °C?
Above 40–42 °C, enzymes, antioxidants, and flavorings are lost. By warming slowly and gently, you preserve all valuable nutrients

Crystallization is therefore not a fault, but rather proof of quality.
